Filtration with candle filter

With the AIK candle filters, solids are filtered out of acidic, neutral or alkaline liquids.

Solid/liquid separation using a candle filter

The AIK candle filters are particularly suitable for Filtration and are used for effective solid filtration in acidic, neutral or alkaline liquids and dewatering of inorganic substance mixtures.

The liquid containing solids is pumped into the filter container using a pump. The filter candles are flowed through from the outside to the inside (outside-in method). A filter cake forms on the filter surface. This filter cake also acts as a filter medium.

After reaching a certain flow rate or a defined filtration pressure, the filtration is interrupted and the resulting filter cake is blown off from the inside of the filter candle with compressed air. During dry discharge, the filter of the candle filter is emptied using compressed air before blasting off. When the candle filter is dry, the discarded filter cake falls via the discharge flap directly into the intended container, big bag or container. During wet discharge from the candle filter, the filter cake is discharged through a membrane valve via the drain line for drainage.

A candle filter system can be operated fully automatically. Thus, the operating effort is significantly reduced and the filtration is extremely interesting from an economic point of view.
